Affiliate Marketing, Can It Really Work For Me?
When I first heard about affiliate marketing, I was so skeptical, I found out about it through a friend, and he wasn’t a rich guy, so I was not sold. It sounded like one of those too-good-to-be-true schemes that you see advertised in late-night infomercials. You know the type — huge promises of making tens of thousands of dollars with little to no effort. Yeah, right. But after a bit of digging and, I’ll admit, a quite a few trial-and-error experiments, I found myself pleasantly surprised. Spoiler alert: affiliate marketing actually can work. But there’s a bit more to it than just slapping some links on your blog or social media. Let me walk you through my journey and what I’ve learned.
The Skeptic’s Beginning
Let’s start from the very top. Affiliate marketing is essentially promoting someone else’s product and earning a commission for every sale made through your unique referral link. Sounds like what I do daily, I sell cars for someone else, and make a commission doing it, so on paper, it sounds like a simple enough gig. But like many, I had my doubts.
