Business is Booming, Buildings And More Are Going Up:
How Do We Keep Up With Traffic and Infrastructure?
Hi, all my family, friends, fiends, foes and funky folks!
If you live in Arizona, like me, or frankly in most of the growing sunbelt states, you can’t drive a mile without seeing a new construction crane on the horizon. From massive new residential communities to sprawling commercial and industrial parks, it seems like the Southwest U.S. is blooming with more than just cool Saguaro Cacti — it’s blooming with concrete, steel, and economic growth and opportunity.
This growth is undeniably exciting. It brings jobs, diversifies our economy, and injects vibrant new energy and money into our communities. But as I sit in what feels like my tenth hour of traffic this week, a pressing question starts to echo in my mind, louder than a cranked to 11 Marshall stack: With all these new people and businesses coming, and booming, how on earth do we keep up with the strain on our traffic and general infrastructure?
It’s a challenge facing countless communities across the country. We’re building upwards and outwards for the future, but are we paving the way, literally and figuratively, for that future to be functional? Let’s talk about the problem and explore some potential solutions.
