Business Seems To Be Bogging Down, What Can We Do?
Hi, all my family, friends, fiends, foes and you funky folks!
Dean here at my keyboard, behind my computer, in my home office. Can I have a realistic chat for just a minute? You feel it, right? That low-down hum of frustration that seems to be the background noise of our new more “modern life”. You call a customer service line and are greeted by an automated maze that would confuse Steven Hawking. You place an online order, and it either takes a month to arrive or shows up looking like it went through a psycho-woodchipper. You try to schedule a simple appointment, and the only available slot is three months from now at 2:17 PM on a Tuesday.
It feels like the gears of commerce are grinding to a halt, clogged with red tape, bureaucracy, understaffing, and a sheer lack of any common sense at all. The systems that were supposed to make our lives easier are now making them harder. As a guy who’s been in the d.j. world and the small business sales trenches, I see this from both sides of that stage. It’s maddening as all hell.
So, the multi-million-dollar question is: when business systems are breaking or hopelessly bogged down, what in the world can we, as consumers, do? We’re not just passive victims here, folks. We have more power than we actually think we do. It’s time to stop just shouting at the void and…
