I Saw Something On the Internet That Made Me Very Upset What Do I Do?
Hi, once again, all my friends, family, foes, fiends, and all you funky folks, you know who you are.
Man, the internet is such a very wild place, isn’t it? One second you’re laughing at British Bulldog videos, the next you’re staring at your screen feeling like the world just dropped a sandbag on your head. Maybe it was a heartbreaking news clip, a disturbing documentary, or just some random viral video that hit you in a way you didn’t expect. (The latter happened to me last night)
And now? You can’t shake it. It’s stuck in your brain like a bad earworm — only instead of “Thunderstruck” by AC/DC looping in your head, it’s this gnawing sense of sadness, anger, or hopelessness.
So, what do you do when a video (or someone’s comment, or post, or meme) drags you into an emotional muddy ditch? Let’s talk about it, I hope it helps me, too!
1. Acknowledge What You’re Feeling (Because Ignoring It Doesn’t Ever Work)
First off, it’s okay to feel screwed up after watching something heavy. Our brains aren’t always great at separating “digital AI content” from our real-life experiences. A well-edited, emotionally charged video can trigger real stress, anxiety, or sadness.
