Measure Twice, Cut Once… But Don’t Overthink It.
(Yet another gem from my dear old Dad) (and his southern California/depression era mindset)
Hi, once again, all my friends, family, foes, fiends, and all you funky folks.
DIdja’ ever get stuck in that weird limbo place between planning something to death and actually doing it? Yeah, me too, I think we all do that from time to time. Whether it’s launching a business, getting the taxes done, or even just reorganizing the garage, there’s a razor’s edge between being prepared and being paralyzed with fear, or over-analyzation.
My dear old Dad used the old carpenter’s rule — measure twice, cut once — is solid advice. But if you measure ten times, you’ll never make the damn cut, ever. And then what? Nothing gets built.
So today, let’s talk about the balance between planning and action — because both matter, but too much of either can screw you up, royally.
The Perfectionist’s Trap: When Planning Becomes Procrastination Or Worse:
