and Why It Shouldn’t, Anyway!

Howdy my Rockers and Rollers! It’s Dean Benson here, your “Dean of Rock and Roll”. Today, I want to work on a topic that’s near and dear to my heart — why rock & roll will never die and, moreover, why it shouldn’t.

First off, let’s clear the smoky, lounge-act filled air: rock & roll isn’t just a genre of music. It’s a way of life, an attitude, a rebellion against the everyday b.s., and totally mundane, and a celebration of the wild and extraordinary. From the rebellious riffs of Chuck Berry to the soul-stirring solos of Jimi Hendrix and wild improvisation of Eddie Van Halen, bands like The Stones, Beatles, The Who, Rush, et. al., rock & roll has always been about questioning the boundaries and challenging the status quo.

The Timeless Appeal of Rock & Roll

What is it about rock that keeps it alive, even in an age where musical tastes are as wild and diverse as ever? The answer is likely in its timeless appeal. Rock has this uncanny ability to adapt and evolve while staying true to its roots. It’s like a chameleon that never loses its original style.

Think about it. The Beatles took the world by storm in the ’60s, blending rock & roll with pop sensibilities. Fast forward to the ’70s and ’80s, and you have bands like Led Zeppelin, The Who…
